Two epic climbs, the battle is on for the minor places, Valverde tries a move and Nibali is the man of the Tour…a must see stage that is both predictable and unpredictable.
For some more interesting analysis of the power outputs during a big mountain stage, here is a look at Moser, Voigt and Gilbert’s srm file from last years Alpe d’Huez stage: Stage 18 SRM files 2013 TdF. A very interesting contrast of a climber at the front on the climbs (Moser), a rider in the break from the gun (Voigt of course) and Gilbert trying to take it as easy as possible. All quite different riders, weights and styles.
